homecoming

i should have posted this weeks ago—but i have been busy with my internship and midterms and of course, knitting... thanks for the reminder missy! i miss you

after only six wks of living in nyc, i retuned to visit home, seattle. it was strange to comeback to my home, as a visitor, and as a guest, at the homes of my friends. we drove past our old house, and I didn’t really connect to it as our home. i was expecting that it would have been more emotional to see the house, but it wasn’t. have we moved on?

being at home with our friends was exactly what i needed. i rely on my friends and community to help keep me real and on track, working towards a larger purpose. The visit was wonderful, though I did not get to spend as much time with people I would have liked.

On my last night in seattle, a dear friend had a horrible accident. after a wonderful evening of dinner and drinks at blue on capitol hill, we picked up a bottle of “cheap red wine” to enjoy before retiring for the evening. when we uncorked the bottle, the top of the wine key slammed against my friend’s lip and split it wide open. The split was wide, long and deep. Since there was no ice in the house, we used frozen spaghetti sauce and frozen naan to keep the swelling down. we went to the ER and he got five very painful stitches. they should heal up in the next week. I’m sending you lots of healing energy!

I feel recharged and ready to take on nyc,
As much as I love seattle, I know that it is not the right place for me right now
